Exhibition: The Cult of Saints’ Bodies
Discover the fascinating world of Baroque piety through eighteen unique exhibits that will take you into the mysterious world of reliquaries and relics of saints. The exhibition offers a detailed view of the decoration of reliquary containers for relics and presents the tradition of venerating the remains of saints.
What can you expect?
Exhibits inspired by Baroque reliquaries that you may know from church interiors.
Precise handmade craftsmanship – thousands of cut glass stones, fine wires, brocade, velvet, plaster, and hundreds of kilometres of metallic threads.
Realistic skeletal remains – patinated plaster replicas or anatomically accurate plastic casts.
Accompanying panels revealing details that are not visible to the naked eye.
Demonstrations of the production of exhibits and decorative components.

Only during guided tours with the author on selected dates will a documentary be screened with commentary by actor and heritage enthusiast Jaroslav Plesl, which will draw you into the atmosphere of the exhibition and, in the very introduction, present the Baroque phenomenon of the veneration of relics of the catacomb saints and the production of reliquaries.

Other tours
The historic interiors of the lower baroque chateau present the era of the 19th century. The exposition is mostly composed of the original mobiliary, which was part of the possession of the last nobel owners of Bečov estate - the Beaufort-Spontin family. The most authentic place of the chateau is the library and the St. Peter´s chapel.
